  1. Reina Orellana
In tne afternoon of the last Thursday, I met Miss Lety who told me something about a choir master class which would be brought by the America Embassy and held the Howard Gospel Choir in the Manuel Bonilla Theater on Friday morning. so, I went to talk with the professor Rigo, who is the chief manager of the UPN´s choir, and I asked him about it. He told me there was an invitation for some students to attend that master class, in fact, a list would had been made by the chief of the Arts Department, but, if I wanted to go , I could arrive at the theater the next day.
on Friday morning, I got up early, because before going to the theater, I had to finish a homework for another class. When I finally arrived to the theater, I met many people knowing by me and related with the arts. I had not seen them for some months or years, also. Then, the program began with information about how to get a scholarship in order to study in the United States of America. After, the team choir were introduced by the choir director, and one by one, they spoke us about their name, origin and careers. The choir director asked for standing us up while they were singing the Afroamerican National Hymn. Then, they sang two examples of Gospel Song and the director explained us the parts that formed the structure of those styles. I was really impressed and amazed about their voices.
To continue, the director divided us in four sections according to the voices (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) and they began to teach us the lyric of the song Glorious God. We repeated over and over the lyric and then the four sections were rejoined again in the stage and sang together the song accompanied by the choir and following the guide from the director.
I experienced feelings of happiness and joy hearing all those voices singing at the same time. I had not been felt in that way since many times ago.

  2. A night at the Manuel Bonilla Theater
On Thursday I went to the Manuel Bonilla with, my classmate, we attended the event of the Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University. I will describe this amazing adventure. It began at 4:00 p.m. when Rodil and I met in the UPN, later we met Andrea and together we went to the theater, we took a collective taxi.
When we arrived dawn town, we walked down the streets of the center, the street being crowded with people. We couldn't walk in order, almost and my partner Rodil walked very fast like running, I thought that maybe a stranger was following us, but it was only that my partner walked quickly.
Next, when we finally arrived at the theater we were exhausted and bought a bottle of water. Immediately after went to make a line to enter the theater and waited for ten or fifteen minutes. Then the line began to move and we entered, in the door there were people from security who had a metal detector; I felt as if I was in an airport. After had entered we sat near the stage. We hoped that the concert would begin at 6:00 p.m. but it started later, it started between 6:30 or 6:40 p.m.
I felt impressed when the ambassador of the USA talked, because I understand what the man said, no all but the principal parts I understood clearly. When the singers started the show I was amazed when the guys started to sing because their voices were amazing. The song that I like more was "Even Me", the girl that sang this song had a melodious voice. In conclusion this night was lots of fun and I enjoyed participate in this activity. The art of music is the best thing for get out of the daily routine.

  3. La Cueva del Gigante, place inhabited by the first population in Honduras

Honduras is characterized for being a multicultural country which has currently many cultures. Among them, there are cultures like Garifunas, Misquitos, and other with each one having their own customs which makes them different each other. In this case I will talk about the visit that I did on one important place for our country, it's called "La Cueva del Gigante".
Last year I took the "Honduras History" class where we traveled to La Estanzuela, located in Marcala, La Paz, Honduras. Looking back, according historians this place was inhabited by the first population who arrived into Honduras from north of Mexico and dates from 9480's BC. They stayed over this site because it was a place where migratory birds arrived that benefited them because they were fowler people, also this place is nearby a river which helped them for their crops as well their own consumption; in fact, living close a water sources is a main characteristic of the ancient tribes and civilizations.
Getting back to my story, that journey was awesome. We left the university at eight o’clock and arrived to Estanzuela around 11 am. We got off the bus, because we found out there was not pass for car, it means that we had to walk by 40 minutes since the enter until the cave but on the trail we found a great water fall, so we took some photos and continue the hike to the big cave. However, the great walk was worth it sure, it was a new place that I would know, which is incredible to travel through our country and discover places that we don’t even imagine. Then, during our stay there, our history teacher explained the historical facts about that place and the inhabitants in a past time, when he had finished, we entered the cave, after a few minutes we had lunch and returned to the bus, but when we were returning we decided to swim in a kind of pool on the river and at the end we left the site and got on the bus to return home. On the way we had fun singing and joking with our classmates, in my opinion it was amazing.
To finish, I can say that as futures teachers we must to experience that type of trip with our students in order to teach them about our own culture and also they know some tourist places that our country has. It’s likely that some people don’t know about these places due to they don’t take the time to spend at least one day to visit these sites.

  4. My trip to Cantarranas
Last year, I think that around April, I had to do this educational video about some place having different activities on it and I was expecting to have a good grade because it was my first class in the UPNFM. Luckily for us my classmate and I found out that Cantarranas was having it's town fair and we decided to go there and make our video about the town and most important, the fair. I remember that I woke up early that morning to get ready; I was the guy with the camera so I had to be there. After my dad and I left the house, we went to pick up two of my classmates who needed to be in the video too, we picked them up and then we drove to Cantarranas.
We arrived to the town around 9:00 o'clock and we had plenty of time to see where we were going to make the video and to check out the different types of food, drinks and traditional games. I was surprised to see a bunch of people painting the walls of the streets near to the church; the kids running to the park, the smell of food being prepared, the sound of music in the park was relaxing. It also amazed me that in the center of the park there was a lot of kids of the main school in the town selling paintings because they needed to have a ceiling without holes and they needed some instruments for their classrooms. I enjoyed to look at the many souvenirs in the place and the colors of their decoration; the blue and yellow were the main colors that I remember to see a lot in the souvenirs and the town.
We started to make the video inside the church, my classmate gave a little introduction about the town in general, it history, the first major in the place and after that she started to talk about the history of the church. My second classmate had to talk about the art of the place and we took some wonderful shots of the walls with a big red guacamaya, a lady with a basket on her head and a face with beautiful colors. I was feeling impressed in that place that I had never been before, the atmosphere was calm and happy with the kids, old ladies and men; we were having a good time.
My other classmate spoke about the delicious food in there, I was recording only her voice while I was showing the food looking so good and tasty on the video. We ate at twelve and we tried some pupusas that someone in the park told us that they were amazing and he was right. After we ate we continued our video; I talked about a little place on the park that it had a lot of little candies called dulce de leche and they also had potato wine (I didn't try of course).
The sun was settling down and our last classmate talked about three old men singing. Who had really good voices. We were packing our things with sadness because we were really having a good time but it was already late but, we took our last walk and then we left the place. We did a really good video and we came happy back home. My dad and I left my classmates close to their home. and then we came back to our house, I felt really good for our work in Cantarranas.
On the day that we presented our video, we were glad that the video was one the best in the class and we had an excellent grade for that. Thankfully we did not have problems with the presentation and thank God everything went well and safe.

  8. Narrative Article: Music night at the Manuel Bonilla

Music is a universal language, being there together in the presence of music makes us know that no matter where we are from, we can speak the same language though music. It is always interesting to see new things and to see how important these events are to others, for example when people are invited to the movie theatre they don’t say it’s expensive or don’t worry about the hour of the event. But when you invite someone to go to the theatre Manuel Bonilla they start to make excuses about the price, or the hour, or the location of the theatre. For me it is always nice to go to the theatre it’s my second favorite place on earth (first home) because I´ve been there several times. when I started to study dramatic arts, my dream was to perform in the stage, one year later, I act in the stage of the Manuel Bonilla for the first time, and was incredible I felt that I couldn’t breathe but in a good way. So every time that I am in the theatre I have that feeling and I imagine how the artist feels. seeing that choir I was particularly excited because It’s always nice to go and see a show but its more excited when the artists that you are going to see are foreign, you have a lots expectations and I had expectations like how were them, or how they were going to sing. When we got there I was so excited and the first thing that call my attention was the excessive security I had never seen that before in the theatre not even in events like telethon in which there are a lot of foreign artists, they make us to wait in a really long line, and when we finally got to enter even when it was still early, there wasn´t any sits anymore and some of us has to sit in the floor. After that, the event started 40 minutes late, and they didn't even apologize for make us wait 40 minutes and some people on the floor. Then, the choir started and I was so happy that actually I forgot how mad I was for have been waited that long. When they started to sing it was really magical, their voices were so nice to heard and the people start to get excited, some people start to record with their phones (even when was forbidden) I was one of the who were recording, because I wanted to have a little piece of their wonderful music. The people were so excited, they were clapping, screaming. It was so nice to see the theater full of people enjoying nice music all together listening the language of music.

  9. My trip to la Ceiba to assist to a Tourism Congress was a great enlightening experience for myself. Last year and for the first time in Honduras a Latin American tourism congress took place in the city of La Ceiba; The International Network of Investigators in Development and Tourism, Relidestur in Spanish, chose this country to be the host of its annual event, in which different people such as tour operators, travel agencies, teachers and students assist and witness different types of investigations about the state of and the opportunities of improvement that the touristic places haves, and most important the wellbeing of the environment of these places .
On November 2018, Curla, in the city of la Ceiba was the host of this major event, which consisted on a large numbers of people presenting their investigations about the opportunities or problematic of some touristic places of Latin America, for three days, each day had a duration of 9 hours per day, the presentations provided tons of enlightening information that opened the eyes of everyone who assisted. On the first day, the presentations consisted in the communities and how they are affected or benefited for the increase of tourism in their areas. On the second day, the subject was the territory and the concern that the nature is the most affected thing and how it might even disappear one day because of the exploitation of these places. On the last day, it was more like a workshop, everyone was asked to participate in different kinds of activities such as do a portrait of a community and how they could be improved, they also asked or gave advices of how these places should be preserved, and finally they told us different ways of how the tourism could and should be a perfect interaction between the location, the community and the tourist workers.
I traveled to the congress in the middle of the night, on the last bus that was traveling to the city; it was a seven hours trip. When I finally arrived to La Ceiba, I went to the hotel just to leave my luggage and without rest I went to the inauguration of the event. When I look back, I can remember that on the second day, I attended to a presentation of the Riviera Maya; for me it is one of the most beautiful places that exist around the world, but I didn't even have a clue that the Riviera was in danger, because of the exploitation of the beaches, the overcrowded hotels, excessive garbage and contamination which the responsible of that is the tourism itself. If these things keep happening, the Riviera Maya may disappear, it's because of that Relidestur in the last decade is more interested in developing and promotes sustainable tourism; which consists in doing tourism without harming the environment. Measures such as recycling, not using plastic control over the tourist arrivals and caring more for the nature are being implemented in every major touristic location. Hoping that these measures could be use in every part of the world.
I learned things that I really ignored about the tourism and I understand in that trip, that my vocation was sustainable tourism; I was amazed of the way that tourism and nature can be related without causing any harm, how to take care of the locations and how to promote them and prevent the destruction of the environment . It was my first my first congress and probably won't be the last, because I enjoyed very much. It was a great experience and I'm planning to use everything that I learned whenever I have the chance to, because I discovered my true passion.

  10. The Thursday night was good and unexpected experience because I went to Theater Manuel Bonilla with my classmate the English level 4 to listen Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University.

We meet in the UPNFM with classmate to leave for downtown in taxi for more safety, then we walked in the pedestrian path next to Andrea and Sandra; we finally at the event fifty minutes before it started.
That he intended to start at 6 but the safety to enter made the delay and there we metal detector which made it impossible to start at the time, they made me take everything and put it the tray of things.

After the whole process the event started at 6:30 pm with melody "Lift Every Voice and sing", the different melodies cheer the spectators which made a nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately, it was my turn to go back to the university early so they brought us in taxi and we came with Sandra. Which was a good experience being a participant in this activity of the American Embassy.

  11. My experience going to the Gospel concert

First of all, I never gone a Gospel concert, because I don’t listen to this kind of music; but when the teacher told me that it’s required to assist at the event, so I had no choice but to go. At 21st I went to the Manuel Bonilla Theater,
I left of my house at 5:30 pm and I arrived to the theater at the 6:10 pm, there I saw a long line of people, to be honest I never thought that the theater would be filled, then I entered, my classmates had a chair for me, the concert began, the Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University they sang several songs, I liked all the programming, it was not boring, because the members interacted with us in some songs, In addition, some songs were Christian, something that was very interesting is that in some spaces the conductor of the choir gave the public messages of reflection.
Finally, when I left the theater I kept singing one of the songs "Oh Happy day"", I returned back my home at 8 pm. It was an amazing nigth, I think that this kind of activity they should be repeated, so that we inculcate in our routine the concerts of singers who speak English, it's a way to improve as English language learners.

  12. Theater Night

All started when my English teacher, Miss Lara, said to my class "Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University is going to have a presentation on February 21th at the theater Manuel Bonilla". Back then was February 18th, so I started to think about that presentation, which the only idea I had it was going to be as in the movies that appear people singing so excited in a church. For example; in Big Momma's House they sang and danced the song Oh Happy Day or Queen Latifah in Last Holiday singing Why Me?, who expressed a lot of feelings. I hoped felt that too.

The days went by and it was the performance's day. In the morning, I took my regular class, however, at 4:30 pm I called to my classmates to know how they were going to the theater. Abraham and Agustin told me they could not go; Rodil and Sandra said to me to meet with them in Build 3, which I did, then we decided to go together. Around 5:00 pm, we took public transport. When we arrived, I only saw Rodil walking so quickly than Sandra and I even jogging we could not be by his side for long time; the streets were crowded also. For me, it was funny because I thought he was terrifying to be in downtown. Anyway, getting back to my story, the presentation was planning to begin at six o’ clock, so when we showed up in front the theater; we had a little free time to bought bottle of water because we were thirsty. Then, we needed to make a long line to entrance. I had never been in theater Manuel Bonilla. I was really nervous but excited at the same time. When we were waiting, my cousin Osiris met with us and she accompanied us all the presentation. In the entrance, a police officer registered our backpacks and then we passed to take a sit.

I was thunderstruck; the theater was bigger and has a facade different than I thought. I saw it as Spanish origin but I do not know the history of the theater Manuel Bonilla. So anyways, the show started at 6:30 pm, which was late, but when Howard Gospel Choir started to sing it was extraordinary. I was joyful, for the reason that, they sang two songs that I know: Amazing Grace and Oh Happy Day. I had a great time. It was better than movies, it is not the same to watch a movie than to listen live incredible voices, and the only thing it was the same was that they were happy as in the movies.
